“When I first took the Eucharist, I cried, thinking about what it was. The Creator of the Universe humbled himself to become my food, to be with me physically. Even decades from now, I think it will still move me to tears. I take as much of that little piece of Infinity as I can. The days when I do are better. “Give us this day our supernatural bread” is one way to translate The Lord’s Prayer from the Greek. Supernatural it is. The Eucharist gives me patience and strength. It appears to be healing me in the places that hurt the most. I look younger. My eyes are brighter. If only I were experiencing this, I might dismiss it, but everyone who takes it has a particular glow: that of someone nourished at the core of their being. The Eucharist is a genuine miracle. I am endlessly grateful for it.”
